A combustor (20) includes an outer wall (52) and an inner liner (54) joined to an inner shell (42) in turn mounted to an inner casing (32). The casing includes a first rabbet (40) at an end flange in which is mounted a corresponding flange (44) of the inne r shell. The inner shell (42) also includes a second rabbet (50) which receives an end flange (56) of the inner liner. The inner shell (42) is trapped in the first rabbet (40) by an inner retainer (64). And, the inner liner (54) is trapped in the surrounding second rabbet (50) for aft-mounting the liner and shell to the inner casing.
