PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for a motorcycle excellent in steering stability for adequately improving the high-speed stability, the shimmy resistance, the cornering grip, and the handling property by optimizing the bending rigidity, generation of the cornering force on a tread contact surface and the transmission efficiency of the force to a rim. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire 10 for the motorcycle comprises a carcass layer and a belt layer 26. The cord direction of the belt layer 26 is substantially the circumferential direction of the tire, and the belt layer comprises spiral belts formed of highly elastic reinforcing cords. The carcass layer comprises at least two carcass plies 12a and 12b, and a reinforcing rubber layer 28 formed of rubber homogeneous to or heterogeneous from a carcass coating rubber is provided in a tread area between at least two carcass plies 12a and 12b.
