<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit for a vehicle capable of selecting a motor driving method of high system efficiency as much as possible while understanding a state of the vehicle and a component mounted on it. <P>SOLUTION: A drive signal processing part 140 of a motor controller 100 outputs a drive signal by a first drive method or a second drive method having less switching loss than the first drive method to a rotating electric machine according to a torque requirement for the rotating electric machine 4.
