PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control occurrence of recessed defects with a simple configuration of the apparatus by energizing the grasper in the closing direction by the shrinking force of the drawn polymer film so as to stabilize the grasping. SOLUTION: A clip tenter 2 is divided into a preheating zone 2a, a grasp stabilization zone 2b, a width retention zone 2c, a main drawing zone 2d and a drawing relaxing zone 2e in the film-carrying direction A. In the grasp stabilization zone 2b, with the width of a polymer film 3 before drawing taken as 100%, the polymer film 3 is drawn so as to give a width after drawing of 104%. In the width retention zone 2c, the polymer film 3 is carried while keeping the state drawn to 104%. In the main drawing zone 2d, with the width of the polymer film 3 before drawing in the grasp stabilization zone 2b taken as 100%, the polymer film 3 is drawn so as to give a width after drawing of 140%. In the grasp stabilization zone 2b, the clip 5 is energized in the closing direction by the shrinking force of the polymer film 3 so as to stabilize the grasp of the film with the clip 5, and the polymer film 3 is drawn stably without recessed defects in the main drawing zone 2d.
