PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing, with high production efficiency, release paper transferring a pattern having excellent contrast. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing release paper 10 by forming an irregular pattern 12 on a rolled web 20 comprises steps of: roughening a surface 20a of the rolled web by spray-coating the surface of the rolled web with a resin 15; and forming the irregular pattern on the roughened surface of the rolled web by embossing.
