摘要 <p>Disclosed is a method for producing a glass matrix that comprises a porous glass matrix formation step, wherein glass microparticles are produced by hydrolyzing a starting material gas in an oxyhydrogen flame and depositing said glass microparticles that are produced to form a porous glass matrix; an impregnation step, wherein said porous glass matrix is immersed in an additive solution, in which a compound comprising a desired additive has been dissolved in an additive solvent, to impregnate said porous glass matrix with said additive solution; a first solvent replacement step, wherein said porous glass matrix is immersed, with said additive solution remaining in its interior, in a replacement solvent, in which said additive is less soluble than in said additive solvent and which is miscible with the additive solvent, to replace said internal residual additive solvent with the replacement solvent; a drying step, wherein said porous glass matrix is dried after said first solvent replacement step; and a sintering step, wherein said dried porous glass matrix is sintered to form transparent glass. Provided in this way is an optical fiber matrix production method whereby it is possible to produce an optical fiber matrix to which additives have been efficiently added.</p>
