Provided herein is a method for receiving information from an independent user or external information providers and storing it on a computer system. The information is then disseminated to consumers based on their particular needs as articulated by customizing criteria provided to the computer system. The methods and systems of the invention provide a platform for simultaneously introducing measures, propositions and the like for consideration by other users of the systems in the context of electoral participation or other participatory forums, the vetting of information in connection with such measures or propositions and the evaluation and ranking of decisions and propositions prior to a selection event, such as an election or shareholder voting. The methods provided herein provide advantageous tools to assist individuals and organizations in connection with national, state, and local elections, and for elections held at shareholder's meetings.
