<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel apparatus for driving a roller of a printing device, drastically reducing the time from stop operation of a printing device to ending of inertia operation of the roller. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for driving a roller (3) of a printing device includes: a main motor (13) for driving the roller (3) through a first gear wheel (8) and first freewheel (6); and an auxiliary motor (14) for driving the roller (3) through a second gear wheel (9) and second freewheel (7). Further, the apparatus includes another brake device different from the main motor (13), for example, a band brake (15) in order to brake the roller (3) during the inertia operation of the roller (3) which continues after the stop signal of the printing device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
