<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly and securely fix a retainer for a compact long casing by a fixing and in this linear motion guide unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A linear motion guide unit has retainers 7 extending to face against a longitudinal direction of the casing 3 and along a raceway 14 and for holding rollers 5 for rolling on the raceways 14 and fixing bands 10 for fixing the retainers 7 to the casing 3. The fixing band 10 is structured by a holding part 20 having a large number of bending parts 19 folded as protruding parts 18 with a predetermined space along the longitudinal direction facing against a holding plate 9 structuring the retainer 7 and a hook part 21 of which end parts are engaged with end caps 4.
