PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst composition suitable for reactions of manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbons from light hydrocarbons and a method of manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbons by using the catalyst composition. SOLUTION: The catalyst composition comprises a crystalline aluminosilicate containing gallium and alumina. In the alumina of the composition, the mole ratio of four-coordinate aluminum atoms to six-coordinate aluminum atoms, determined by the<SP>27</SP>Al-MASNMR method, is lower than 0.5. (1) The mole ratio of gallium atoms to aluminum atoms in the backbone of the crystalline aluminosilicate in the catalyst composition, measured by the<SP>29</SP>Si-MASNMR method, is≥0.45, or (2) the mole ratio of gallium atoms to aluminum atoms in the backbone of the crystalline aluminosilicate used as raw material, measured by the<SP>29</SP>Si-MASNMR method, is≥0.45. The method of manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbons comprises bringing a raw material containing 2-7C hydrocarbons into contact with the catalyst composition. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
