The pedal has housing closable with a cover. A rotor (6) is rotatably mounted in the housing by a bearing sleeve (7). A speed sensor determines a rotation angle of the rotor. An operating plate acts on the rotor. A part of the rotor is designed as a rocker (8). The rocker is pressed on a tongue (10a), which is formed by partitions (10). The sleeve is manufactured from material containing hysteresis favorable rubbing characteristics in cooperation with material of the housing. A kick-down device is provided with a restrained flat spring and a plastic cylinder.
