<p>A process of leaching a metal value, such as nickel, from a metal laden solid, such as ore. The process includes the steps of contacting the metal laden solid with a leach solution comprising an organic bio-acid to provide a metal value containing leachate. At least the major proportion of the organic bio-acid in the leach solution is malic acid. The leachate is recovered for further processing to remove the metal value.</p> |
