摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-boosting disc brake system capable of obtaining an optimum self-boosting force in forward movement, backward movement and even a stop on a slope while achieving reduction of device size by reducing the output of an actuator or the like by making an amplification factor into an optimum state. <P>SOLUTION: A disc brake system is provided with each brake device that executes brake operation by holding and pressing a disc rotor 5 by an inner pad 3 and an outer pad 4. Each brake device has a self-boosting mechanism 7. Each brake device is arranged such that the self-boosting mechanism 7 on the front wheel side acts during forward movement while the self-boosting mechanism 7 on the rear wheel side acts during backward movement. Accordingly, the service lifetime of each self-boosting mechanism 7 is extended due to less frictional parts. The self-boosting efficiently generated on the basis of brake torque with almost no loss can be equally and uniformly distributed to the inner/outer pads. Therefore, as a matter of course, it is also possible to eliminate a wear difference between the pads inside and outside of the brake device while minimizing braking input in either of forward movement and backward movement, thereby contributing to reduction in device size. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p>
