PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polymer having excellent solvent resistance by using a prepolymer having excellent solvent resistance, to provide a printing plate and a printing master plate improved in printing precision and printing durability by using the above polymer, to provide a method for producing a liquid crystal alignment film with high precision, to provide a method for producing a black matrix with high precision, to provide a method for producing a colored layer for a color filter with high precision, and to provide a method for producing a bank with high precision. SOLUTION: The prepolymer for producing a printing plate or printing master plate consists of a repeating unit with a solubility parameter of <20 J<SP>1/2</SP>/cm<SP>3/2</SP>.
