<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical device, properly sharing a musical file with another device while holding down the manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: When a user specifies a file to display directory information on an electronic musical instrument 100, when the pass of the file indicates a built-in storage of a host device (a third electronic musical instrument 300), the electronic musical device 100 generates a DIR command including the pass, and sets the DIR command at a predetermined end point provided in a target controller 13. The host device always polls the predetermined end point of the electronic musical device 100. When the DIR command is set at the predetermined end point, the host device acquires directory information of a file put in a position indicated by the pass from its own built-in storage, and transmits it to the electronic musical device 100.
