<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a radar target simulator apparatus for obtaining a wide band independent of a frequency band of a radio wave signal for simulating a target. <P>SOLUTION: An electrooptic converter 3 creates a simulated optical signal for carrying the radio wave signal outputted from a pseudo signal generator 2 based on the radio signal for simulating the target outputted from the pseudo signal generator 2 and an optical signal outputted from a wavelength variable light source 4. An array waveguide grating fiber 6 branches the simulated optical signal according to a wavelength, and transmits the branched signals to a plurality of corresponding optoelectronic converters 8 through a fiber array 7. The optoelectronic converter 8 demodulates the radio wave signal from the received simulated optical signal, and outputs it to a corresponding antenna element 9. The movement simulation of the target is controlled in a region of the optical signal as a carrier in a process for optically carrying the radio wave signal for simulating the target to the antenna element.
