<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device to properly and softly receive a pedestrian, etc. by expanding in a stable state. <P>SOLUTION: This airbag device is furnished with an airbag 20, an inflator 15 to blow out gas in the airbag 20, a detection means to detect collision and a control means to actuate the inflator 15 by a signal from the detection means and expands the airbag 20 arranged along a front pillar 2 on the outside of a vehicle.
