<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser diode driving circuit which is easy to use, and a laser welding power source using the circuit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The laser diode driving circuit and laser welding power source are characterized in that a laser output detected when a laser diode is driven with a laser diode driving current corresponding to a laser output that an operator sets based upon a preset laser output/driving current conversion table is detected to calculate a difference between the set laser output and the detected laser output and when the difference is between first and second predetermined thresholds, it is indicated that the conversion table needs to be updated.
