<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axially asymmetric phosphorus compound useful as a ligand of a metal catalyst and a simple method for producing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing an axially asymmetric phosphorus compound represented by general formula (1) comprises subjecting a compound having a triple bond to cycloaddition reaction by using a catalyst containing rhodium metal and optically active bisphosphine.
