PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device, having higher display quality by decreasing reverse tilt domain more than before. SOLUTION: An opening part 11a of a pixel electrode 11 includes a first straight line part 111 extending from the central part 11c of the opening part 11a toward the ends 11e, 11e at both sides of the opening 11a, a second straight line part 112 provided between the first straight line part 111 and the end 11e, and a third straight line part 113 constituting the end 11e, wherein the first straight line part 111 and the second straight line part 112 make acute anglesθ1,θ2 from the initial alignment direction D of liquid crystal molecules M in the reverse rotating direction RI to the rotating direction RD of the liquid crystal molecules M, and the acute angleθ2 made between the second straight line part 112 and the initial alignment direction D is larger than the acute angleθ1 made between the first straight line part 111 and the initial alignment direction D.
