PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early and surely detect a failure of a suction fan in an inkjet printer which is equipped with a print unit that prints an image on a paper by making an ink ejected from a print head to the paper, a heating heater that is heated by supply of an electricity thereby heating the air for drying, the suction fan that blows to the paper the air after being heated by the heating heater as a drying wind, and a safety thermostat that acts when the temperature in a ventilation path where the drying wind is blown is not lower than a permissible temperature, thereby prohibiting the action of the heater. SOLUTION: In an initial driving period of the inkjet printer, when the temperature in the ventilation path continues rising because the suction fan is a non action state, a target setting temperature of the drying wind is set high so that the safety thermostat acts by the temperature rise (step S3).
