<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer which is capable of forming images at high speed, excellent in the fixation characteristics of toner particles to a recording medium and free from fixation irregularities, and an image forming method using the liquid developer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid developer includes toner particles, an insulating liquid containing an epoxy modified compound and an acrylic modified compound, a cation type polymerization initiator, and a radical type photopolymerization initiator. It is preferable that the epoxy modified compound is epoxidized vegetable oil obtained by epoxy modification of vegetable oil.
