PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an operating angle of a new door closer employing a spring damper. SOLUTION: Either of a leading end of a piston of the spring damper of such a type as to be subjected to shock absorption in contraction and a base end of a cylinder thereof is pivotally attached to a movable pivot, the other one is pivotally attached to a fixed pivot on the side of a door frame, the movable and fixed pivots are arranged along the upside of the door frame, and positions of the movable and fixed pivots are set so that a change point cannot appear in a link mechanism into which the spring damper is incorporated.
