It has been demanded to develop a substance which has a potent and wide-spectrum anti-bacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and resistant bacteria thereof and is highly safe. Under these circumstances, extensive studies have been made, and it is now found that a compound represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof has a potent and wide-spectrum antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria and also has high safety at a level suitable for use as an antibacterial agent or a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for infectious diseases. Thus, disclosed is a compound represented by formula (I), a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, or a hydrate of the compound or the salt.
