POWER MANAGE APPARATUS AND MOTHED IN DIGITAL RECORDER

PURPOSE: A power management device and method in a digital recorder are provided to reduce the battery consumption by switching the microcomputer between standby and in-use states according to whether to perform recording. CONSTITUTION: A power management device of a digital recorder including a microphone(10), a voice compression encoder and decoder processing unit(20) and a battery(30) comprises a voice detection part(100), an interrupt determination part(200), and a microcomputer. The voice detection part amplifies input voice signal, and transmits control signal indicating voice input when the amplified voice signal is over the set critical value. The interrupt determination part determines whether control signal is input from the voice detection part. The microcomputer enters standby mode when there is no control signal input and the voice compression encoder and decoder processing unit is not in operation, and enters operation mode and records/decodes inputted voice when voice input is determined in the interrupt determination part.
