<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an appropriate blood flow rate in a flashback and quickly guide a guide wire into a blood vessel. <P>SOLUTION: This catheter indwelling appliance 10 includes a flexible guide wire 12, a Y hub 14, a syringe 16, a hollow puncture needle 18, a hollow outer needle 20 and an elongated bag body 74. The Y hub 14 has a linear main port 40, a side port 42 diagonally connected and communicated with the main port 40, and a hemostasis valve for inserting the guide wire 12, at its substantially central part. The outer needle 20 is provided to cover a needle 54 of the puncture needle 18. The needle 54 is a different-diameter needle having a distal narrow-diameter portion 60, a proximal large-diameter portion 62 and its intermediate tapered portion 64. The guide wire 12 is extended from the side port 42 to the main port 40 via the hemostasis valve by an operation means 22 and its distal end is disposed in the tapered portion 64 in the needle 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
