<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer a real-time data with low delay. <P>SOLUTION: A network device transfers a frame by repeating a reservation transfer section, namely a time zone for transferring frames according to reservation, and a free transfer section, namely a time zone for transferring frames freely, at a fixed period. The network device has: a transmission port; a cycle timer; a mode switching control section that monitors the transfer state of the transmission port, selects a store and forward system as a transfer method during transfer, and selects a cut through system as a transfer method while the transmission port is not in a transfer state; and a transfer prohibition control section for selecting the cut through system as a transfer method when transmitting non-reservation frames, and for changing the transfer method of a non-reservation frame to the store and forward system in the case of the reservation transfer section by referring to the cycle timer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
