<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a birefringence pattern certification device capable of exactly certificating even a birefringence pattern in which a plurality of colors excluding black can be recognized visually through a polarizing plate. <P>SOLUTION: The certification device which has a light source, a polarizer converting the light of the light source into polarized light, a polarizer which transmits reflected light or transmitted light produced by irradiating an object to be certified with the polarized light to convert the light into detected light, and a means for observing the detected light and in which the light source includes a means for emitting single wavelength light of a certain specified wavelength, or a filter including a part selectively transmitting only single wavelength light of the following wavelength is installed in the means for observing the detected light is constituted. The certain specified wavelength, when the birefringence pattern includes a domain X and a domain Y indicating different colors when observed through the polarizing plate, is selected from a visual light wavelength domain in which (polarized light reflectance of domain X)/(polarized light reflectance of domain Y), (polarized light transmittance of domain X)/(polarized light transmittance of domain Y), or (polarized light reflectance of domain Y)/(polarized light transmittance of domain X) is at least 1.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
