<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method for improving visibility of a synthetic bird's eye view image. <P>SOLUTION: Plural captured images are respectively converted into bird's eye view images, a synthetic bird's eye view image is generated by synthesizing the respective converted bird's eye view images, obstacle information relating to an obstacle is extracted on the basis of the bird's eye view image, an obstacle original image that is an image including the obstacle is extracted from an image captured by the imaging device on the basis of the extracted obstacle information, an obstacle bird's eye view image corresponding to the obstacle in the synthetic bird's eye view image is detected from the synthetic bird's eye view image on the basis of the extracted obstacle information, an image obtained by substituting the obstacle original image extracted by the obstacle original image extracting unit for the obstacle bird's eye view image detected by the obstacle bird's eye view image detecting unit is output as a substituted synthetic bird's eye view image, and video data to display the output substituted synthetic bird's eye view image on a display device is generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
