PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method which enables the efficient production of release paper which can keep a pattern transferred with a high contrast. SOLUTION: The production method 40 is a method for producing the release paper 10 by forming the uneven pattern 12 on a rolled web 20. The production method 40 includes the process for roughening the surface 20a of the rolled web and the process for forming the uneven pattern on the surface of the roughened rolled web by embossing.
