<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for applying catalyst slurry, with which the time to apply the catalyst slurry to a carrier base material can be shortened. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for applying catalyst slurry has a packing mechanism that: when slurry is packed in the carrier base material, the periphery of the carrier base material is covered with a press injection pot, a liquid holding cap, and a carrier holding seal; then a press injection piston, arranged in the press injection pot for reducing the volume of the press injection pot, is actuated; the space covered with the liquid holding cap and a carrier seal arranged in the liquid holding cap is made to have negative pressure by sucking the air in the space through a suction hole arranged on the upper surface of the liquid holding cap; and the measured slurry is packed in the carrier base material linked with the actuation of the press injection piston.
