<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and inexpensively mass-produce carbon nanotube having high purity, high stability and high function. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An apparatus for manufacturing carbon nanotube by feeding hydrocarbon and metal powder for catalyst into a carbon nanotube producing furnace 1 and causing the hydrocarbon and metal powder to react with each other is provided with a metal powder for catalyst/carbon nanotube separator 10 for separating carbon nanotube with metal powder for catalyst discharged from the carbon nanotube producing furnace 1 into the metal powder and the carbon nanotube.
