<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a displayed video more easily viewed by uniforming visible video quality in an image display area in a state that a screen of a liquid crystal display device is irregular in terms of light reception. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device X includes: a built-in optical sensor type liquid crystal display panel 4 on which a plurality of color liquid crystal elements 4p and a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements 4a for detecting front brightness are adjacently disposed; and an image quality adjustment circuit 7 for individually adjusting the image quality (pixel brightness, brightness of an LED light source 6a for a backlight) of the displayed video in each of the plurality of video display areas corresponding to respective positions of the photoelectric conversion elements 4a in accordance with the light receiving levels BL(i) of the photoelectric conversion elements 4a.
