<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical metal composite cable inspection apparatus that can intuitively determine whether an optical fiber is appropriate, has improved visibility in the inspection result of the optical fiber, and can inspect not only the presence or absence of the disconnection of a metal wire but also that of short circuit and crossed line of the metal wire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lighting of a red LED 44, a yellow LED 46, and a blue LED 48 at an LED array section 50 provided in an inspection and display unit 12 indicates whether the optical fiber of the optical metal composite cable 14 is appropriate, and the quantity of light attenuation corresponding to the LED is displayed in figures near the LED. Also, resistors having mutually different sizes are provided in the connection wire of a plurality of metal wires in a connection unit 10; current is allowed to flow to the metal wires connected by the connection wire; the value of resistance between the connected metal wires is measured; and the presence or absence of the disconnection, short circuit, and crossed line of the metal wire is determined based on the value of resistance.
