<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer, easily suppressing internal drying of nozzles even in a severe service condition such as when printing is continued over a long time within a dry room or in a high-temperature environment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inkjet printer comprises a printhead H for allowing ink to be ejected from a nozzle portion to form an image on a recording medium, a cap member 40 switchable between a sealing position for sealing nozzle surfaces 11a of the nozzle portion and a separate position where the cap member is separated from the nozzle surfaces 11a, and a closing mechanism 60 for closing an opening of the cap member 40 located in the separate position.
