<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rainwater from leaking into an operator's seat side through the gaps between the outer end of a roof member and left and right frame members even if the gaps between the roof member and the left and right frame members are not caulked. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This operator protective device comprises a pair of left and right side-frame members extending upward from the rear of the operator's seat of a work machine and further extending from the upper side forward and the roof member stretched between the upper parts of the pair of side-frame members. The left and right side-frame members are formed of pipe members, and the roof member is formed by forming a sheet metal. The roof member comprises a pair of left and right gutter parts on the left and right inner sides of the pair of left and right side-frame members, respectively. Cover parts for covering the upper parts of the side-frame members by riding up on the upper parts of the side-frame members are installed on the outer sides of the left and right gutter parts, respectively.
