<p>The method involves producing a negative pressure in an interior of a contact element (29) of a vacuum gripper, where the pressure acts on a fixing region (42) of a surface of a string shaped item (7) in an internal suction region of the contact element. The item is cut by an outer cutting edge of the contact element, where the cutting edge circulates and encloses the suction region for sealing the suction region. The item is cut by an inner cutting edge of the contact element, where the inner cutting edge circulates and encloses the suction region for further sealing the suction region. An independent claim is also included for a strip shaped food cutting machine comprising a vacuum gripper.</p> |
