<p>The mattress has a water jacket (10) that confines a water chamber. The water jacket has a rectangular form in a filled condition. The water jacket including an upper couch surface (15) and multiple vertical lateral edges (11) is made of a PVC-foil. A recess is formed in upper corner points (12) of the vertical lateral edges in the PVC-foil. The recess is covered with a patch that is made of a plastic material i.e. polyurethane, which is fused with the PVC-foil directly or indirectly. The recess extends over the entire height of the lateral edges.</p>
