Disclosed is a process for producing 2',3'-didehydro-3'-deoxy-4'-ethynylthymidine, which is a compound useful as a pharmaceutical agent, with high efficiency and in an industrially advantageous manner. Specifically disclosed is a process for producing 2',3'-didehydro-3'-deoxy-4'-ethynylthymidine, which is represented by scheme (I).
