<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic device suppressing edge effect without causing blurring or non-recording of a single one-dot image or a line of one-dot width. <P>SOLUTION: This electrophotographic device has: a large/small template generation means determining the number of pixels to edges in vertical and horizontal directions from a reference pixel position based on a measurement result of a test image edge part detection means, and generating two kinds of templates having different sizes; an image edge part pixel area calculation means performing template matching to image data to be printed by the two kinds of templates having the different sizes, and calculating a difference area obtained by subtracting a small detection area detected by the large-size template from a large detection area detected by the small-size template as an image edge part pixel area of the image data; and an exposure amount setting means setting an exposure amount of an electrostatic latent image portion corresponding to the image edge part pixel area.
