<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cellular phone which provides a large screen freely enlarged in vertical and lateral directions, and shows a long sentence including a long character string in a landscape mode without being restricted on the width of a hand holding the cellular phone, and which allows single hand operation by stably holding a machine body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A screen panel and an operating panel are integrated, and on a bottom face of the operating panel, a step having a height that is approximately equal to the thickness of a finger, is provided at a position away from a side end by a length of the palm size. When holding a machine body with his or her finger hooked there, even a machine body too wide to hold with one hand can be stabilized and operated easily with one hand.
