<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tape guiding device capable of suppressing the displacement in the tape width direction of a magnetic tape to be run, and to obtain a servo writer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tape guiding device 34 includes a first cylindrical guide member 40 provided upstream of the tape carrying direction of the servo signal write head 18 to guide, as a first guiding member, a magnetic tape MT to a servo signal write head 18, and a second cylindrical guide member 42 provided downstream of the tape carrying direction of the servo signal write head 18 as a second guiding member for guiding the magnetic tape MT with a servo signal SS written by the servo signal write head 18 thereon from the servo signal write head 18. By fixing the first guiding member 40 and the second guiding member 42 so as not to make them move, cyclic vibrations generated when a guide roller rotates are eliminated in comparison with the conventional guide roller for carrying a magnetic tape while rotating, so that the displacement in the tape width direction of the magnetic tape MT to be run can be suppressed.
