The component i.e. hammer brush, has a carrier element including a brush carrier, and electrical connections (27, 28) for connecting the component with an electrical power source. Brush lines (21, 22) are connected with brushes (11, 12) for a commutator of an electric motor (10). Suppressor elements (23-26) for electromagnetic suppression are arranged in a recess of the carrier element. An arrangement of two of the suppressor elements has a symmetry same as an arrangement of the connections. A fastening device fastens the carrier element to a housing element of the electric motor.
