PURPOSE: An alkali soluble binder resin and photoresist resin composition containing the same are provided to produce high properties and process stability. CONSTITUTION: An alkali soluble binder resin comprises: acrylic monomers with substituted photoinitiator; and other acrylic monomers containing reactive groups or not. The reactive groups are selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxyl, amide, phenyl, and epoxy. The alkali soluble binder resin is copolymerized with the acrylic monomer and other monomers reactive thereto.
