<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection system capable of correctly protecting an occupant on the distal side seated in a distal seat farther from the collision side in a side impact from one side in the right-to-left direction. <P>SOLUTION: The occupant protection system M comprises a receiving body 16 arranged between the proximal side seat PS and the distal side seat DS, and supporting bodies 29, 47 for supporting the receiving body 16. The receiving body 16 is arranged in a projecting manner from a storage part between the proximal side seat PS and the distal side seat DS during the operation so that the distal side occupant DP 2 who is moved sidewise to the collision side can be received, and the collision side of the distal side occupant DP is covered. A projecting end 17a side when the projection is completed forms a free end which is oscillated in the right-to-left direction. The supporting bodies 29, 47 are arranged on the collision side of the proximal side seat PS, and support a collision side part 17c of the receiving body 16 so as to regulate the oscillation to the collision side of the receiving body 16 unable for reception when receiving the distal side occupant DP. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
