OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection system capable of correctly protecting an occupant on the distal side seated in a distal seat farther from the collision side in a side impact from one side in the right-to-left direction when a vehicle is traveling.

SOLUTION: The occupant protection system M comprises a first receiving body 18 arranged on a distal side occupant DP between the proximal side seat PS and the distal side seat DS, and a second receiving body 31 arranged in front of the proximal side seat PS. The first receiving body 18 is arranged in a projecting manner from a storage part between the proximal side seat PS and the distal side seat DS during the operation so that the distal side occupant DP can be received in the initial movement, and the further moving distal side occupant DP is guided to the side of the second receiving body 31. The second receiving body 31 forms a front side airbag 31 which is projected backwardly and inflated from the front storage position of the proximal side seat PS by allowing inflation gas to flow so as to receive the distal side occupant DP guided by the first receiving body 18.
