<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element capable of outputting polarized light that is generated at an active layer by suppressing a deterioration in a polarization ratio. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting element is provided with: a substrate 10; a light emitting section 30 having a non-polar plane or a semi-polar plane as a principal plane and having a first semiconductor layer 31 of a first conductive type, an active layer 32, and a second semiconductor layer 33 of a second conductive type to output the polarized light that is generated by the active layer 32 from the second semiconductor layer 33; and a reflective film 20 arranged between the substrate 10 and the active layer 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
