<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical article which has a sufficient reflection preventing effect and does not cause any cracks when forming a reflection preventing layer, and to provide a method of manufacturing the optical article. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical article, a hard coat layer is formed on a plastic substrate and the reflection preventing layer is formed on the hard coat layer.
