<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter wherein a recess in the center part of a photo spacer is improved to reduce variations in height, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter substrate for use in a liquid crystal display device having liquid crystal enclosed between a color filter substrate and a substrate opposite to this substrate includes: a transparent substrate 1; a light shielding layer 2 which is formed on the transparent substrate 1 and has a prescribed pattern; pixel color layers 3R, 3G, and 3B in a plurality of colors which are disposed in regions demarcated by the light shielding layer; and a spacer 5 for cell gap adjustment which is laminated on the light shielding layer and keeps a gap between the substrates constant. A raised layer 4 consisting of a material of the same color as one of the plurality of colors of the pixel color layers is formed on a part corresponding to the center part of the spacer, of the light shielding layer on which the space is laminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
