<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform defrosting without needing a special piping structure and operating a compressor. <P>SOLUTION: This heat pump water heater includes an extending section 23a formed on a water inlet circuit 23 in a state of extending toward an evaporator 9, a guide pipe 27 connected with the extending section 23a and guiding the water flowing in the extending section 23a to an upper side of the evaporator 9, a water spraying valve 31 for opening and closing the guide pipe 27, a water spraying mechanism 26 for spraying the water guided by the guide pipe 27 to the evaporator 9, a temperature sensor 10 for detecting a temperature at a flowing-out side of the evaporator 9, and a control section 34 for stopping operations of the compressor 5 and a pump 12 when frost formation on the evaporator 9 is determined on the basis of the detection of a prescribed temperature by the temperature sensor 10, and opening the water spraying valve 31 to perform a defrosting operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
